What I love about teaching local workshops

July 29, 2019

There’s nothing like community building.

Here’s a fun fact: I was a hairstylist for five years. I taught classes on wedding updos and makeup to my salon co-workers. That was the closest I ever got to teaching workshops until the ladies behind Enlighten Us approached me to host a creative workshop in Orlando.

Getting creative together.

When I teach a local workshop, whether it be painting vintage bags or customizing eco-friendly tote bags, my favorite thing is leaving the creative process open to everyone who attends. I teach the basics like how to mix paint, what brushes to use, how to seal and protect your artwork - but the creativity is all you. You decide what to create and I love seeing everyone’s pieces come together. No two are ever the same!

Art classes with a local twist.

Thanks to Enlighten Us, I’ve been really fortunate to be able to hold art classes at local business like West Elm by Millenia Mall and Lucky’s Market in Winter Park. I love being able to meet locals who have a creative bug just like I do. And hopefully I’m teaching you a new way to express that creativity while we’re at it.
